Privacy Policy
This page explains, in plain words, what information this website gathers and what becomes of it. We are a small church, not a business. We do not sell anything, and we do not sell or trade information about the people who visit this site.
What You Give Us Directly
If you fill out the form on our Plan Your Visit page, or subscribe to receive articles by email, you give us your name, your email address, and whatever you choose to write. That information goes to the pastor and is used for exactly one purpose: to expect you, welcome you, or send you what you asked for. It is never given to anyone else.
What Is Gathered Automatically
Like most websites, this one uses a few common tools that count visits. They set cookies, which are small files a browser keeps.
- WordPress.com statistics. This site is hosted on WordPress.com, which counts how many people view each page. It does not tell us who you are.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel. When you visit this site, the pixel reports the visit to Meta. We use it so that announcements we place on Facebook reach our own neighbors, and so we can tell whether those announcements brought anyone here. Meta keeps that record under its own privacy policy, not ours.
- MailerLite. This service runs the email subscription form. It records nothing unless you subscribe, and every email it sends includes a working unsubscribe link.
None of these tools gives us your name or identifies you personally to us. If you prefer not to be counted, most browsers can block cookies in their settings, and the site will work fine without them.
Links to Other Sites
Our sermon recordings are hosted on SermonAudio, and the church keeps a page on Facebook. When you follow a link from this site to one of those, you are on their property and under their privacy policies, which we do not control.
What We Will Never Do
We will never sell, rent, or trade your information. We will never add you to a mailing list you did not ask for. We will never publish anything you send us through the visit form. This site is written for a general audience, and we do not knowingly gather information from children.
Questions
Write to Pastor@VBCoden.com, or call (251) 216-2806, and ask. If you have given us information and want it removed, say so and it will be done.
